First we need a map! We will begin by looking at what is troubling you and what changes you would like to make in your life. I'll ask you to complete some forms and we'll review your history together. This evaluation usually takes one or two sessions. Based on what we learn together, we will identify goals for your psychotherapy. I'll suggest a plan including possible treatment methods and an appointment schedule. For child or adolescent therapy, I will make recommendations about which family members attend therapy sessions, and how often. This will be our initial map, which we will review as needed.
Then we go! Depending on your situation, we can use a variety of modalities, including:
- Buddhist-derived interventions including mindfulness, Mindsight, and universal compassion
- Attachment Based therapy
- Insight Oriented therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
- Attachment based
- Brain Spotting
Most of us are committed to spending time and effort on some things in life - maybe our family, our career, a chosen sport or an area of academic study. I'd like to inspire you to make a similar commitment to your own healing and lasting happiness! I will dedicate myself to helping you, offering experienced guidance and companionship. As you gain insights and skills, we will plant them like seeds in your daily life and nurture them until they are established as a new way of living.
